We were pickin’ around with our friend Jeff Farias this past weekend and he started talking about situations where 2 related singers harmonize. When this happen, apparently the sound is near magical and is called “blood harmony”. Love it.

This weeks band name BROVA slides a healthy dose of douche into your lyf while paying homage to our local NOVA (or northern Virginia). We hope you can git lyk us, but no u cant.

This week’s band name is: Yestersol.

This idea came from a book I’m reading – The Martian by Andy Weir. Apparently, Mars has ~25 hour days, and a day on Mars is counted as one “sol.” (I”m assuming this is a reference to our sun, which is named Sol.) So a “yestersol” is the day before a day on Mars. Kinda confusing, but it sounds cool.

Definitely a name for some electronic group.

This week’s band name is: Woebegone Boys.

This might be a good name for a bluegrass band? I don’t know. Webster says the following:

woe·be·gone adjective \ˈwō-bi-ˌgȯn also -ˌgän\
– looking or feeling very sad

1 : strongly affected with woe : woeful
2a : exhibiting great woe, sorrow, or misery (a woebegone expression)
2b : being in a sorry state (woebegone tattered clothes)

I was kind of thinking definition 2b when the name was created. Given a long enough timeline, most bands probably eventually fall into this state of being.

This week’s band name is: The Ne’er-Do-Wells.

I’ve found some other bands with similar names, which always bugs me b/c I’ve independently came up with it. It’s like, both the vikings and Columbus discovered America…can’t we share the credit? Although this is what most band naming sessions are like anyway….somebody else has always done it!

I was recently playing a Nintendo 64 emulator on my phone…and was reminded of that awesome rumbly contraption originally sold alongside Goldeneye. It seems to make an excellent bandname. Let’s rumble, baby.
